Well, my stay-cation is finally over! My husband came home on Valentine’s Day, exactly one year after he deployed to Afghanistan, and we took the month of March off to reconnect and spend time together. But now that his leave is over, it’s time for me to get back to work as well. I have one wedding to blog, one to edit, and another to shoot this weekend, plus some upcoming couples/engagement shoots in the next few weeks!

For now, here are a couple portraits. I’ve neglected my solo portraits for a while now, but I am determined to make up for it. The first is of my old high school friend Hana, now stationed at Pearl Harbor. The second is my sweetheart, the day he had to shave off his three-week beard for work the next day.

He would cite me for lens flare and bokeh abuse, but with that lens, I just couldn’t help it! Here’s some images from us messing around, enjoy!

Moments after this last photo, the leather strap for his vintage 8mm’s bag broke.  Sigh.

But otherwise, see, it’s good to be friends with me! ;)

Last summer, I had my old friend Mika Yamaguchi come up to my house for a visit along with Bristol Dunlap, an artist/musician whom I’ve long admired. With Kaeo assisting with the lights, we had an impromptu photoshoot session in my yard while Bristol played for us.
